It was with great pleasure that I welcomed the students and staff to the 2016 academic year. There was a buzz of excitement and anticipation on the first day as students and staff caught up with holiday news and new students were introduced and welcomed into the community. Students quickly settled into their new routines and classes, and many new friendships have already been formed.
We have a reputation for academic excellence at St George’s; however our focus is much broader than outstanding results. We aim to provide each student with the values, skills and knowledge necessary to achieve their potential beyond the classroom walls. Our 2015 graduates not only achieved excellent results in their final examinations, but also graduated as young men and women of fine character with a sense of social justice and a desire to contribute meaningfully to society. We wish them well in the future and look forward to hearing of their journey in the years ahead.
As we enter our second year as St George’s Anglican Grammar School, we continue to explore even more opportunities and facilities available to us in our central location. Our students are now a familiar sight in the CBD and we are certainly taking our place as ‘the School at the heart of Perth city’.
I look forward, with much anticipation, to all that 2016 will bring to our school community.
