From the Principal

Welcome to St George’s Anglican Grammar School, a proud member of the Anglican Schools Commission network of schools in Western Australia. Catering for students in Years 7-12, St George’s Anglican Grammar is a school which enjoys the unique position of being a city-based campus. One of the most desirable characteristics that modern schools aspire to, is to be a community and St George’s certainly achieves this. Our aim in the coming years is to extend our school community into the city through a wide variety of programs. These include our unique service initiatives, pairing students with corporate mentors, exploring exciting opportunities to link with businesses in the city and through real-life learning experiences for our international students. We enjoy a special relationship with St George’s Cathedral, our spiritual ‘home’ in the city, and our parents and friends are always welcome to join us at School services.

At St George’s we seek to demonstrate and advocate to our students, staff and the wider community the Anglican Schools Commission’s six principal values:

  • Living by Gospel values
  • Pursuing high standards in all things
  • Demonstrating fairness, compassion and conviction
  • Respecting self, others and our planet
  • Acting with honesty and openness
  • Promoting social inclusion and celebrating difference

Our motto is Wisdom Grace Service and our aim is to be a community of learners and educators whose everyday actions embody these three words. Thaddeus Golas, the author of A Lazy Man's Guide to Enlightenment, says "All your words and actions define the world you want to live in." This quote echoes the famous words of the great leader Mahatma Gandhi, after whom one of our Houses is named, “You must be the change you wish to see in the world.”

We want our students to be equipped to tackle the world head on, to be inquisitive, questioning, informed but perhaps most of all, kind. Our Anglican faith supports this, our teachers enable it, our parents nurture it and our students live it. In other words, we are a community.

Please join us.
