The St George’s Rio Empired Hackathon

Two ASX listed companies, Rio Tinto and Empired have formed a partnership with St George’s Anglican Grammar School to run a Hackathon.

Hackathons are run all over the world, but this is a first for St George’s. Selected IT employees from Rio Tinto and Empired will work with our students to solve a number of work solutions. This is a fantastic learning opportunity for our students as they engage in a project that is truly STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) in its concept.

What is a Hackathon?
‘Hackathon’ defined very broadly:
• Hacking is creative problem solving. (It does not have to involve technology.)
• A Hackathon is any event of any duration where people come together to solve problems.

  • Tuesday 1 August 3:40 to 4:50 pm
  • Tuesday 8 August 3:40 to 4:50 pm
  • Tuesday 15 August 3:40 to 4:50 pm
  • Tuesday 22 August 3:40 to 4:50 pm
