ANZAC Service

During the first Chapel of Term 2 at St George’s Cathedral, a commemorative ANZAC service was held to remember those who have, and continue to, serve our country. Current serving member, Lieutenant Colonel Malcolm Beck, spoke to the school community about his time as an active serviceman and what ANZAC day means.

Our student speakers chose to participate as they either have ancestors who fought on both sides of the World War or family members who continue to serve.

Wreaths were laid to:

  • honour the Aboriginal ANZACs who served Australia;
  • to honour the Australian men and women who served and sacrificed their lives for Australia;
  • to recognise former foes and valued allies, in respect of those against whom and with whom Australian fought; and
  • for Australians who have lost their lives or have been injured in peace keeping missions for Australia.
