In safely managing COVID-19 within the School, it is imperative that families let us know as soon as their child tests positive for COVID-19 or is identified as a close contact. It is a requirement of the school to identify COVID numbers to WA Health via AISWA on a daily basis.
All absences related to COVID should be sent to our COVID absence hotline on COVIDabsence@stgeorges.wa.edu.au. This email is monitored 8am – 5pm, 7 days a week by St George’s Staff.
For students testing COVID positive they must isolate for 7 days prior to returning to school. If after 7 days they have residual symptoms related to COVID they will require medical approval to return to school. They do not need to test negative prior to returning to school.
For students identified as a close contact, they need to have a daily negative Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) to attend school and are also required to wear a mask whilst at school.
All students need to have access to a mask whilst at school as it may be required for excursions, Phys Ed classes and/or co-curricular activities. Whilst the mask wearing mandate has been removed as of 1201am Friday 29 April it is still recommended where social distancing cannot occur. As a school we respect each individuals decision regarding mask wearing.
