Middle School 

Years 7 - 8

In the Middle School the Australian Curriculum provides opportunities to access and consolidate previous learning and ensure a solid foundation for future success in Years 10 to 12. The keystone of these programs is to cater for individual differences. In developing these programs, focus is on the acquisition of a broad-based, future focused, general education with emphasis on development of sound literacy and numeracy skills through the following areas:

  • Drama;
  • English;
  • Health and Physical Education;
  • Humanities;
  • Languages (Year 7 Mandarin/Year 8 Japanese);
  • Mathematics;
  • Music;
  • Pastoral and Well-being Sessions (PAWS);
  • Protective Behaviours Program (PBP);
  • Religious Education;
  • Science;
  • Technology; and
  • Visual Art.

Years 9 - 10

Years 9 and 10 are transitional years during which students continue with a broad based Australian Curriculum. Students study the following core subjects:

  • Careers;
  • English;
  • Health and Physical Education;
  • Humanities; 
  • Mathematics;
  • Pastoral and Well-being Sessions (PAWS);
  • Protective Behaviours Program (PBP);
  • Religious Education; and
  • Science.

Students start to develop personal preferences, interests and abilities in specific subject areas; preparing them to make informed subject selections for Years 11 and 12. Students are required to choose two, year long, optional courses building a good foundation to the Year 11 and 12 subjects.Art

  • Design Technology - Photography;
  • Digital Technology;
  • Drama;
  • Languages (Japanese);
  • Music; or
  • Visual Art.
