Career development

Career development is an important part of every student’s journey. That’s why we provide a range of resources and opportunities to help our students explore their interests and plan for their future.

Our dedicated career development co-ordinator works with students to offer support and guidance at each step of their journey, whether they are just starting to think about their future goals or have a clear idea of what they want to pursue.

Our World of Work Week helps students to become job ready by supporting senior students to be confident in applying for jobs, scholarships and more. St George’s students have access to industry professional, hands-on workshops, guest speakers as well as city-based work experience and volunteering.

With a comprehensive approach to career development, St George’s students graduate with confidence and skills that they need to pursue their passions and succeed in their chosen careers. Whether they want to become a doctor, lawyer, artist or entrepreneur, we are committed to helping them achieve their dreams.

Our Pathways Program is integrated into the middle school curriculum to support our students make decisions about their future in the context of their learning. By supporting our students to identify their own skills and how this can relate to future careers, we aim to equip them with skills that they will need for life.

Students at St George’s have access to careers counselling, and we warmly welcome families in these discussions. We have a dedicated careers office with resources that students might need to research pre-apprenticeships, community service and volunteering, University and VET qualifications.
