Adventures in the great outdoors

Whether it is kayaking or surfing, rock-climbing, bush-walking or building a raft, St George's students enjoy Outdoor Education as a curriculum subject that includes Year 7 to 10 school camps.

The Outdoor Education program encourages students to adopt a balanced, healthy lifestyle and seek greater self-esteem, team-work and leadership attributes as well as outdoor abilities.

In Year 9, students learn kayaking, camp cooking, orienteering, team-building games and sustainability studies.

In Year 10, students advance to rock climbing, roping & knots, mountain biking, camp cooking and team building.

In Year 11, students set off for surfing, abseiling, bush walking and outdoor expedition.

St George's use a number of local recreational spots in and near the city, such as the Swan River, parks and the beach for Outdoor Education, as well as locations further afield for wilderness camps. Click through the carousel:
