Enrolling Your Windows BYO Device
Microsoft has a very useful platform called InTune for Education.
Using Intune, IT departments can upload school-owned or 3rd party applications for easy one-click installations by the student on their enrolled devices. For example, Microsoft Office and the required anti-virus applications are now a one-click installation, as well as other apps like Adobe Creative Cloud client with more to come.
Benefits include the automatic installation of a certificate for safe web browsing, keeping your device up to date, storing your Bitlocker keys when and if you should ever need them to unlock your hard drive, remote locking/wiping your device, only ever with your permission if the device is ever lost or stolen plus many more features.
Please note that it is not compulsory to enrol the device. However, if your device is not enrolled, all school software and certificates must be manually installed. Once your device is enrolled, all these processes become a lot simpler.
